NYC is one of my favorite places to take pictures! It's filled with architecture, speakeasies, rooftops galore and hidden gems that you can stumble upon at any moment. I've lived here now for almost four years so I've been able to explore the tourist destinations (some, which are definitely worth a visit) and beyond. There are endless amounts of backgrounds to suit any IG feed during any season. Whether you're visiting or a local looking for a new photo opportunity, here's a list that will not disappoint.
L’Appartement Sézane (Soho)

A NYC Storefront that transports you to Paris. This boutique and cafe is located in Soho. You can grab a cup of coffee for a prop or to enjoy as you shop.Their storefront changes seasonally and the cozy interior never disappoints!
2. Urban Backyard (Nolita)

The cutest (and environmentally conscious) coffee shop located on Mulberry Street. You can get anything from oat milk lattes to hand decorated cupcakes, perfect for food photography. As spring and summer await, this outdoor seating is beautiful for a relaxing day outdoors
3. New York Botanical Garden (Bronx)

Spring is just around the corner and the NY Botanical Garden is the best place to visit for floral-filled photos. Right outside of the Garden is Arthur Avenue, which is basically the Bronx's "Little Italy". A photo spot where you can spend the day and then grab a meal makes
it well worth a visit!
4. Stuyvesant Street (East Village)

Located in the East Village, Stuyvesant Street is the perfect backdrop for any NYC street photography. The street is relatively quiet which makes it a great place to take photos with ease, free of interruptions.
5. Nomo (Soho)

Nomo is a hotel with an entrance (left) adorned with fairy lights and vine, that will literally light up your Instagram feed. The hotel also features a restaurant with a skylight and chandeliers that make for incredible lighting. Even if you aren't staying at the hotel, they tend to be very friendly and never mind you capturing a quick photo in the entrance!
